Privacy Policy

Magical Gladiators is a browser-based fantasy combat game, with a related website and the optional Tales from the Arena newsletter. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you visit, play, make an account, participate in multiplayer games, or subscribe to updates.

Account and identity: When you create or upgrade an account, the game may process your email address, display name, optional player alias, an authentication identifier, and related account/security metadata. Authentication is provided using Google's Firebase Authentication. The game may initially use an anonymous identifier before you create a durable account.

Gameplay: To run matches and provide game history, the game may store event and match identifiers, participants, character selections, characters' names and attributes, turn and round activity, moves, attacks, dice rolls, scores, wins/losses, kills, other statistics, and technical activity records.

Communications: When you contact support, we receive the information you send and may retain communications needed to respond. If you explicitly request the newsletter, your email and relevant consent or form-submission details may be processed through Kajabi.

Technical data: The service and its providers may process browser/device information, IP addresses, log events, session identifiers, cookies, and browser-local storage needed for authentication, security, troubleshooting, and operation.

• Operate the game, account access, multiplayer sessions, leaderboards, and player preferences.
• Save and restore permitted game state and keep records needed for game integrity, debugging, abuse prevention, and support.
• Investigate errors and improve reliability, accessibility, fairness, and performance.
• Communicate with you about account security, requests, and essential service matters.
• Send Tales from the Arena only when you have taken an appropriate affirmative subscription action and completed Kajabi's confirmation process where required.
• Meet applicable legal requirements and protect the safety, integrity, and rights of players and the service.

Signing up to play the game does not automatically enrol you in marketing emails.

Magical Gladiators is designed for competitive and shared play. Depending on the game mode and features in use, other players may see your display name or alias, event and match participation, selected characters, move and combat outcomes, scores, and leaderboard information.

Do not use a display name or alias that reveals private information you do not wish other players to see. Information displayed to others depends on the game mode and features available at the time.

Our website, Kajabi-hosted pages, and game may use essential cookies and browser storage for sign-in, session continuity, and user preferences. Some providers also use technical logs and security measures necessary to operate their services.

Our website and service providers may use standard site measurements and technical diagnostics to understand visits, usage, errors and performance. Additional analytics or optional tracking may be introduced as features evolve, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

You can usually adjust cookie settings in your browser, but disabling necessary storage may prevent accounts or game sessions from working correctly.

Tales from the Arena is an optional newsletter operated using Kajabi. It may include game updates, beginner tips, fictional commentary, and new feature announcements. Subscription is separate from your Magical Gladiators game account.

When you affirmatively opt in, we may send the authenticated account email and the minimum information needed to Kajabi's newsletter form. Kajabi manages double opt-in confirmation and newsletter membership. An accepted request does not mean subscription is complete; you must confirm when asked.

You can unsubscribe from marketing using the link in each newsletter or by contacting arena@magicalgladiators.com. Unsubscribing does not delete your game account or necessarily stop essential account/service messages. We may retain records of consent and withdrawal where reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance and honour marketing preferences.

We use third-party platforms to provide parts of the service. These currently include Google Firebase for game identity and related application services, and Kajabi for the Magical Gladiators website and newsletter. See Google's Privacy Policy and Kajabi's Privacy Policy.

Authorised providers may process information on our behalf for hosting, authentication, delivery, security, analytics where enabled, or support. We may also disclose information when required by law or to investigate misuse and protect the service.

We retain account, match, communication, and consent information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, subject to legal, security, and dispute-resolution requirements. Different information may be stored for different periods.

Information can be processed or stored in Canada, the United States, or other locations where our service providers operate. Privacy protections may differ by location.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service, but no internet transmission or storage service can be guaranteed completely secure. If you suspect unauthorised account access, contact us.

Subject to applicable law, you can ask to access or correct personal information, inquire about our practices, withdraw applicable consent, or request deletion. We may need to verify account ownership and retain limited information when required by law or essential security needs.

Depending on your residence, additional privacy rights and complaint procedures may apply, including Canadian privacy law and applicable European or US state requirements.

Magical Gladiators is intended only for adults aged 18 years or older. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the game. We do not knowingly invite children to register or provide personal information. If we learn that an account belongs to a person under 18, we may restrict or close that account and take appropriate steps to delete personal information, subject to applicable legal and security requirements.

We may update this policy to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or new service providers. Material updates will be communicated as appropriate, and the revision date will be updated when the updated policy takes effect.

Links to other websites are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for how unrelated sites handle information.
